A Quick Note from John:
I believe in building relationships and it is something I truly enjoy doing. I have always relished in being a positive part of someone’s day – whether it was assisting clientele at restaurants, as a morning show host at a radio station, or working with students.
Beyond my professional experience in higher education, I have skills that cannot be taught – I am an effective communicator, a team builder and I strive to be a role model in the community. I take ownership of projects I am a part of, and I embrace implementing new ideas and solving problems.

What has John done previously?
John previously worked for Salisbury University’s radio station WXSU as the Program Director. Besides that major management role, he was also the morning-drive host of one of the station’s most popular programs, The Morning Buzz where they adopted a Top-40 format with entertaining segments. John really enjoyed being a part of peoples’ mornings and he continues to always work towards being a positive part of someones day. During his time at the radio station, John also was active in planning major campus radio station events and was key in communicating and allocating resources for other campus organization’s events.
John spent time as an Ad Campaign Manager and Event Coordinator for H.O.P.E. (Help and Outreach Point of Entry) in Salisbury, Maryland during his senior year. While working with the center designed for helping the homeless, John and his team created an advertising campaign centered on creating awareness of the shelter. They were able to work with leaders at HOPE to create a streamlined donation page and were able to show how social media can help increase exposure in the community. The team put on a ‘Pie Your Professor’ event that included popular Salisbury University Faculty and student leaders getting pied in exchange for donations to HOPE.
John has also made an impact with a local Salisbury car dealership. He led his team to implement a social media strategy for the dealership who wanted to take advantage of new media. The team created simple ‘how to’ guides, posting schedules, post material and more that would eventually create a better connect with the local community.
What are John’s Interests?
John has interests that include broadcasting, social media marketing, and sports! He enjoys having civil debates and creating a conversation about what is happening. Radio programs such as Mike and Mike, The Herd, SVP and Russilo, The Tommy Show, and The Kane Show sparked his broadcasting interest a while ago, but actually being on air for over a year gave him a whole new perspective and a lasting interest in the medium.
Sports have been his world for as long as he can remember. John says that he will always be doing whatever he can in order to either play, coach, or just teach the games he has a great passion for. As a local DMV resident, he follows his hometown teams – the Washington Wizards, Redskins, Capitals, and Nationals.
